Nathan has been blessed and protected by the spirit throughout his mission. He served in a VERY VERY low class community in chino hills (the ghetto) and was afraid to go to sleep sometimes, but he knew our heavenly father was protecting him and his companion.
Nathan was in a car accident and is lucky to be alive, when he told us about it he said" im lucky to be alive and i know that my work here is not done."
Last year California had that big earthquake and he was near where it happened he said " it was the most scariest thing but i had to see if others were ok." Nathan always thinks of others and he has been like that since he was a kid.
Nathan has had many baptisms and says that he has this greatest feeling and words cant express seeing people turning there life's around and changing there old ways to have the gospel in there life's.
In one letter he wrote... "My companion and i were visiting the Los Angeles Temple and were chatting with other elders that were there. As we were leaving to get into our car we say a man that was full of tattoos and piercings( he looked like a bad guy) stopped as and said that he was taking the listens of our church, so my companion and i started talking to him and getting to know him. After our conversation the man pointed at the temple and said he was going to marry his wife and be together with her and there family. I was shocked because of his appearance you wouldn't think he would say things that that." I cry whenever i tell that story he has had many cool experience like that.
My brother has had good and bad days but has always had his head up and continues to do his best. We are so LUCKY to have him and we LOVE him to death.
We cant wait till he comes home we have missed him and it's going to be a VERY emotional day on Feb 17th. Jacob and i will be going up to Calgary on the 15th and staying up there for about 3 weeks. Stephen is staying behind and we will miss him very second of the day.
I'm so blessed to have the family i have i feel like the LUCKIEST person in the world. I have the greatest parents they are so cool and have the craziest things to say and love how they are the BEST grandparents to Jacob (they don't even look like grandparents...no white hair's yet). My brother's i love them so much and i always think of them, we have such a close relationship and i would give my life to them in a heartbeat.
And last but not less my HANDSOME HANDSOME boy, he is so adorable the beautifulest baby in the universe and Stephen" my handsome love muffin" i love them with all my heart and i love the journey that we are taking together wouldn't change it for the world. I thank heavenly father for all the blessing i have received and i thank him for my Family.

Hey Andrea,
I was over at my father in law's tonight and met someone who served in the same mission as your brother! He's friends w/ my brother in law and when I asked him if he knew an Elder Gonzalez, he said he did! His name is Elder Owens and he said your brother is a 'stud of a missionary' :)
I can't believe he's going to be home in a few days!
Have fun in Canada eh!
