Just for Grandma and Grandpa G

A fun weekend

This past weekend we wanted to do something different and fun, we headed over to Brandi fenton splash park. We had a blast, we loved watching Jacob get so excited splashing in the water and running around with us. This little guy LOVES the water his favorite part was waiting for the water to shoot out of this hole he would get a kick out of it. After spending a good hour it was time to go Jacob wasn't happy to leave but we ended up going to eegees and that made him happy. It was such a wonderful day to top that the boys gave me a massage Stephen did most of the work but Jacob wanted to help daddy. I love my boys and I'm so glad we had a fun day.

Short but Sweet

Last week my parents came down from Canada and they spent a week with us and were able to attend Jacob's birthday party.
We had so much fun i have to say it was one of the best weeks ever. My parents of course spoiled us but more Jacob and bought him so much stuff. My parents aren't homebodies which is a good thing because we aren't either. We spent the days out going to the mall eating out and much more.
Jacob's party was a blast my parents were the best and cooked one of my favorite meals, some of our friends and family members came to celebrate. The kiddies had fun eating snow cones and playing in the kiddie pool. We are so thankful for those who came it was a fun day.
During the week Stephen had to work but it didn't stop us we headed to Phoenix and hit the malls, i love when my parents come because they buy us whatever we want, thanks mom and dad:)
Jacob has gotten VERY close with his grandpa and grandma and always wanted them to hold him there was some sweet moments that they shared together. one morning we were all in the guest bedroom were my parents were staying at and Jacob got up and gave my dad and good morning kiss and hug. My dad said that, that moment his heart just melt. He loves giving kisses and hugs to them and us. My mom even taught Jacob to say grandpa, it's more like "umpa" but it's still very cute when he says it.
Well our amazing week had to end sometime and today my parents had to leave. It was very sad and of course some tears were involved. After saying good bye Jacob started to notice that grandpa and grandma weren't in the car on our way back home he said"umpa" and the tears just came down and i couldn't stop crying. When we got home he said"umpa"again and we cried together and we cuddled and played with his new toys till Stephen got home.
I'm the luckiest girl to have such great parents that adore Jacob and love him, even though we live so far away we all just have this WONDERFUL bond. Love you mom and dad and thank you for all that you did when you were here.

Jacob is one!

Birth story
July 3 2008 39 weeks prego's, my parents were coming into town went to the airport and got them though out the day i had very strong contraction but they were 10-20 minutes apart so no worries there. After picking up my parents and hanging out the rest of the day my mom notice that i was getting very uncomfortable and always asking me if i was ok i kept telling her that i was fine, but boy were the contractions coming on strong but still only 10-20 mins about so i didn't think much of it. Later on that night when we all went to bed again my contractions came on strong and around 10:30pm they came every 10 minutes so i tried to go back to sleep but holy cow they were hurting. I tossed and turned for about 4 hours so about 2:30ish now July 4th i woke Stephen and told him that i couldn't sleep and i was timing them but they were about 5-10 minutes apart he told me to walk around the house and see if i can try to go back to sleep, because at this point if we were to call the hospital they would of told us to stay home. So i walked around the house for about an hour and again they were hurting more and more, at this point i was crying and i felt bad because i didn't want to wake anyone up. At almost 4:00 i went back to bed to try again i just started crying and i finally decided to go and take a warm bath to see if that would help...heck no they killed even more by this time it was 5:00 and i stayed in the tub for a good hour. I got dress and lay down to bed and timed them they were coming every 3-5 minutes so some progress. So about 7:00 the sun was up and i went into by parents room and started to cry and told them it was time they were coming every 2 minutes and STRONGER. My parents quickly got ready and advise me to take a shower to feel fresh for the hospital. By the time we started loading the car i couldn't take it anymore we rushed to the hospital, we got there and i couldn't even walk we went into check in and to the triage room. They checked me and i was already 3cm and 2 days ago i was only at a one. So they told me to walk around and within 10 minutes of walking my mucus plug came out and again i was checked and i was at 4cm. They asked if i wanted the epidural and i said no because i wanted to go as far as i can with out it. So by then it was lunch time and my parents and Stephen's parents were hungry so while they ate Quezon's and i ate my lame jello(which i can tell Jacob was not a fan of because the whole time i was eating it my contractions were coming every minute and stronger by the second) so everyone rushed me back to the labour and delivery room. I don't remember what time it was but i FINALLY got my epidural at a 6 cm, and i LOVED it my anesthesiologist she was so good i didn't feel a thing. I gave her the biggest hug for not hurting me. So at 6 cm i was in heaven BUT things were not progressing and i was dilating very slowly. I think a little after midnight my water broke(bummer Jacob was not a Independence baby) and it was time to start pushing. Long story short i Pushed ALL NIGHT and little Jacob was still not out, i was so tired of pushing for more then 7 hours i was ready to give up. I hated how 4 mom's already had there babies and our water broke at the same time. i was getting worried, the doctor came in and told me what was going on and explained that my downstairs area is tiny so when i stop pushing Jacob's head goes back to his original position. Doctor talked to us about vacuuming him out or doing a C-section and i really didn't won't a C-section. Stephen and my family prayed about what we should do and had the strongest feeling to try to vacuum him out. So by 9:15am the doctor and her team got things ready at this point I was so wick i don't even want to push anymore. Doctor couched me and kept telling me that i can do it, the time was finally here and my own team Stephen, my dad, my, mom, and Stephen's mom where in the room and I needed them more then ever to help me get through this. Finally the doctor was all set up and we were ready to rock and roll. I remember pushing as hard as i have ever push in my life i can feel my face go really red i was scared that i was going to pop a vain or something, then i heard my mom say "his head is out" then i gave it my all the biggest 2 pushes.... and then... MY BABY WAS OUT! After 35 hours in labour and more then 7 hours of pushing, Jacob Edwin was born July 5th 2008 at 9:23am weighing at 6lbs 15 oz and 21inches long. I heard him cry for a couple of seconds and i just cried, everyone was crying they were so happy that little Jacob was finally here. I didn't see Jacob for about 20 minutes because they were working on me and the doctor had to stop the bleeding fast i ended up getting a 3 degree tear(not so good). But finally Stephen brought him to me and i held onto him forever i talked to him and told him that we had a rough couple of days and that i was glad that both of us are ok and that i loved him to pieces.

I still LOVE my Jacob to pieces he brings me and our family so much joy. This little guy is loved by everyone and I'm so glad that he picked us to be his parents. Jacob is the sweetest boy and i love how he gives us kisses. We have had an unforgettable year and i cant believe how time has flown by. I don't know what i would do if i didn't have him in my life. I'm so glad that i had a boy first i love how he is such a mama's boy.
I love him with all my heart he is one of my best friends, Jacob and I will always have a special bond. I'm so thankful to my heavenly father for giving me such a wonderful little boy. He is my prince FOREVER!

Happy 1st Birthday Reito!!!
