Christmas in Canada

Stephen, Jacob and I have been in Calgary Alberta for about a week and we love it here. It's really nice to be here with friends and family. Everyone has been waiting for Jacobs arrival and they cant get enough of him. Grandpa and grandma Gonzalez LOVE LOVE LOVE him and love that he is here they spoil him like crazy but hey that's ok. We had a wonderful welcome home party and we loved that most of our family and friends where there.

Through the week we were busy doing some last minute shopping and we got to see Santa... note to self for next year DON'T WAIT 2 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS TO GET PICTURES WITH SANTA!!! we had to wait about 2 hours in line to see him but it was worth it Jacob's picture came out really cute but of course the best picture was with his tongue sticking out.

Christmas morning was fun we opened presents and had breakfast and after cleaning up we all just laid around it was so nice to stay in our PJ's. In the evening we had Christmas dinner which was amazing... The thing i miss most about being away from my parents is there COOKING.
After dinner we watched "Dark Knight" and for Christmas i got the 3rd season of the O.C which is one of my favorite shows. Anyways i have to say i started watching it without anyone and NOW my parents, my parents are addicted to the O.C
In other news my brother Nathan called from his mission and we got to talk to him it was really nice to hear his voice. I cant believe he will be home in just a month and a half.

Happy 3rd Anniversary

I cant believe it's already been 3 years of marriage, time really does go by fast when you have such a good live. I have to say im the most luckies girl in the world to have a husband like Stephen.

Lately Stephen and I have been watching "Saturday Night Live" we normal don't watch it but during the whole presidential elections we have kind of gotten a little addicted to SNL.

I love hanging out with Stephen and watching the stupidest skits i have ever seen, plus i love a good laugh. I have to say "Saturday Nights" are my favorite!!

On Monday my friend and i took our babies for a walk and we stopped at the playground by her house. We had so much fun, Jacob LOVED the swings and i LOVED his little smile whenever i would push the swing... (he is so dang cute) We even went down the slide he wasn't to sure about that but i had such a great time playing with my little boy.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was held at my house, and i wanted to make it very special because it was Jacobs first major holiday. Both Stephen's parents came and Jason and Liz came also.
We got everything ready and the boys did the usually watch football and i have to say this family really LOVES football and yes Jacob was watching too. After eating our delicious dinner we played some broad games and watched Jacob eat his first greens..."green beans" i have to say he totally liked eating something new but i just cant get his cute little expression out of my head when he took that first bite, the look of disgust.


To end the night we watched one of my favorite movies "The Dark Knight" i know it's not out yet but Liz works at blockbuster and has all the connections to getting new movies that haven't be released yet. Thanks Liz.

Twilight

Today my friends and I left the babies with our hubbies and we went out for breakfast and afterwards went to see "Twilight". Before we went to see a couple of people had said that it wasn't the greatest movie but i still wanted to see it and i kept an open mind about it. I thought the movie was good and i liked it but that's just me. Some parts could have been better. I really liked Edward i thought his character was played pretty well.
Anyways i wanted to blog about it because i knew my brother kirk would be checking out my blog later today because he is going to see it tomorrow. Everyone has there opinion on the movie and mine... i liked it!!!

A trip to the Zoo

So here in Tucson the weather has FINALLY cooled down, and we are now able to do outdoor activities.
Some of my friends and I planned out a day to take the kiddies to the Zoo. We went around 10:00am and the weather was great, we went around the whole zoo and most of the animals were out. I wasn't sure Jacob would notice much of the animals but he proved me wrong, he LOVED it and was very aware of all the different animals.
We had such a great time i came home and told Stephen about it, and we are thinking of taking Jacob to the zoo as a family.

4 Month Recall

Jacob is Now 4 months old, i cant believe how time is going by fast.
We went to the doctors for his 4 month check which meant...SHOTS!!!
Jake weighs 14lbs - 25% percentile
Length 26 in - 90% percentile (he is way to long for his age)
Head Circumference 42 cm - 25-50% percentile

After they check all his measurements the doctor came and visit and checked him out. He is doing very well and she said he has advanced development and was shocked at things he can do at 4 months. Doctor gave us the OK to start him on rice cereal. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.
Shots went ok he still cried but not as much. He did really good. Now he is sleeping it off after a hard and long visit to the doctor's.

Halloween Party

So our ward had a Halloween party this week. Jacob already had his costume 3 weeks ago but Stephen and i were still looking around to see what we can go as. We finally decided last minute for me to go as a fairy and Stephen as a cowboy. We all looked very cute and we had so much fun at the party. Towards the night Jacob was getting very tired and pretty much wanted out of his costume.

Fall is in the air

During last week Stephen and i didn't get to see much of each other, he had midterms going on. So he wanted to do something that weekend with me and of course "our little 3rd wheel". Saturday night we went to the outback stake house and had dinner, then we went to this little pumpkin patch which we have done for the past 3 years kind of our little tradition. We had so much fun, i love our little family.

On Saturday we took Jacob to his first U of A football game. We had so much fun, i was surprise that Jacob did very well considering thousands of fans cheering on for the wildcats. We sat right in the middle and 8 rows from the front we had an awesome view.
During the half time show Jacob fell asleep but soon after was awake when we all cheered after Arizona got another touch down and ended up winning 42-27 against California.

One day when Stephen wasn't home, Jacob and I went into his office and got some awesome pictures of Jacob in Stephens chair. It was nice to see Jacob finally at work...just kidding

My Best Friend

I don't have anything really to blog about, the only thing i have to say is that im so in LOVE with my little boy. There are no words to express the love i have for him.
He does this thing in the morning right when he wakes up and i pick over his bassinet to say good morning. He looks up at me and the first thing he does is gives me a BIG smile... I LOVE IT.

Baby time at the library

Every Wednesday afternoons a group of my friends and i get together and we go the the library. The library has a meeting area which they hold a "baby time" and other mom's and there babies come and we sing and dance, it's so much fun.
Jacob last week was asleep the whole time but this week we got to sing and dance with the other babies and he really had a good time.

A day at the park

I love Monday mornings, A group of us and other sisters in the ward meet up at a Tucson park and we just hang out with our babies. It's really nice because the weather is starting to cool down and we can stay out longer before it gets hot in the afternoon.
Jacob is funny because he is either sleeping or eating whenever we go but its nice to see him interact with the other babies once in a while.

Just A Phase

Hey i wanted some advise. I have to say Since Jacob was born he has been the best baby ever sleeping through the night, rarely fussy, and eating every 3 to 4 hours. Now... He still sleeps through the night but...

Doesn't Take Afternoon NAPS

It drives me crazy because i want to do stuff around the house and when he's awake i can't, it's really difficult folding laundry and holding a baby at the same time. I hope anyone can help me out but is it just a phase that he doesn't like to take afternoon naps, hey i rather him not nap then wake up every two hours at night.Jacob wide awake and playing... First Haircut

Well It's about time, Jacob went in for his first haircut last night he had no idea what was going but yet he is only 2 1/2 months he did so good he is such a good baby and I'm so blessed. The hair dresser got a lot of hair and he sure did needed a haircut. After Stephen and Jacob got there hair cuts we went to subway fro dinner, it was a really nice just the three of us hanging out.

Jacob is now 2 months old which means he gets his first set of shots. Stephen had to work so he couldn't come with me, so i went alone with little Jacob. Jacob is now 11lbs and 5oz and 25 inches the doctor said he is a tall little boy for his age. We went into one of the opp rooms which i asked the doctor a lot of questions about the vaccines. She left the room to get everything ready, at this point Jacob was hungry again so i started to feed him plus he hadn't taken a very good nap so i knew things weren't going to go well. Dr came and gave him his shots... poor baby cried so bad that i couldn't bear to see him like that i started to cry with him. There are no words to express the emotions i was going through seeing my little boy in pain. After the doctor left the room we both sat there crying for a good 15 minutes. Jacob finally settled down and he finished drinking his bottle. When i was buckling him in the car ready to go home he started smiling and acting like his old self that was such a relief. Stephen and i got home around the same time and he asked me how it went i then started to cry. I love my husband so much he just cuddled with me till i calmed down. Jacob is doing really good he has been sleeping most of the day but i got a couple of pictures after the whole ordeal. just to let you know im not looking forward for his 4 month check up.

Jacob's Blessing

Jacob's baby blessing was a success. We had family come down from Queen Creek and Canada. The spirit was very strong, i tried not to cry but times like this you cant really help it. My little boy looked so precious in his blessing outfit. Stephen did a good job with the blessing, the blessing was very heartwarming to hear. It said that he will grow up healthy and strong, he will be a great friend to those around him and they will follow him with the examples he shows, he will serve a full time mission and find a good wife and they will be sealed in the temple for time and all eternity, and he will also be a good brother to his siblings. I'm so lucky to have the gospel in my life and the luckiest girl to have a great husband how loves and cares for me and our little boy.
