Birth story
July 3 2008 39 weeks prego's, my parents were coming into town went to the airport and got them though out the day i had very strong contraction but they were 10-20 minutes apart so no worries there. After picking up my parents and hanging out the rest of the day my mom notice that i was getting very uncomfortable and always asking me if i was ok i kept telling her that i was fine, but boy were the contractions coming on strong but still only 10-20 mins about so i didn't think much of it. Later on that night when we all went to bed again my contractions came on strong and around 10:30pm they came every 10 minutes so i tried to go back to sleep but holy cow they were hurting. I tossed and turned for about 4 hours so about 2:30ish now July 4th i woke Stephen and told him that i couldn't sleep and i was timing them but they were about 5-10 minutes apart he told me to walk around the house and see if i can try to go back to sleep, because at this point if we were to call the hospital they would of told us to stay home. So i walked around the house for about an hour and again they were hurting more and more, at this point i was crying and i felt bad because i didn't want to wake anyone up. At almost 4:00 i went back to bed to try again i just started crying and i finally decided to go and take a warm bath to see if that would help...heck no they killed even more by this time it was 5:00 and i stayed in the tub for a good hour. I got dress and lay down to bed and timed them they were coming every 3-5 minutes so some progress. So about 7:00 the sun was up and i went into by parents room and started to cry and told them it was time they were coming every 2 minutes and STRONGER. My parents quickly got ready and advise me to take a shower to feel fresh for the hospital. By the time we started loading the car i couldn't take it anymore we rushed to the hospital, we got there and i couldn't even walk we went into check in and to the triage room. They checked me and i was already 3cm and 2 days ago i was only at a one. So they told me to walk around and within 10 minutes of walking my mucus plug came out and again i was checked and i was at 4cm. They asked if i wanted the epidural and i said no because i wanted to go as far as i can with out it. So by then it was lunch time and my parents and Stephen's parents were hungry so while they ate Quezon's and i ate my lame jello(which i can tell Jacob was not a fan of because the whole time i was eating it my contractions were coming every minute and stronger by the second) so everyone rushed me back to the labour and delivery room. I don't remember what time it was but i FINALLY got my epidural at a 6 cm, and i LOVED it my anesthesiologist she was so good i didn't feel a thing. I gave her the biggest hug for not hurting me. So at 6 cm i was in heaven BUT things were not progressing and i was dilating very slowly. I think a little after midnight my water broke(bummer Jacob was not a Independence baby) and it was time to start pushing. Long story short i Pushed ALL NIGHT and little Jacob was still not out, i was so tired of pushing for more then 7 hours i was ready to give up. I hated how 4 mom's already had there babies and our water broke at the same time. i was getting worried, the doctor came in and told me what was going on and explained that my downstairs area is tiny so when i stop pushing Jacob's head goes back to his original position. Doctor talked to us about vacuuming him out or doing a C-section and i really didn't won't a C-section. Stephen and my family prayed about what we should do and had the strongest feeling to try to vacuum him out. So by 9:15am the doctor and her team got things ready at this point I was so wick i don't even want to push anymore. Doctor couched me and kept telling me that i can do it, the time was finally here and my own team Stephen, my dad, my, mom, and Stephen's mom where in the room and I needed them more then ever to help me get through this. Finally the doctor was all set up and we were ready to rock and roll. I remember pushing as hard as i have ever push in my life i can feel my face go really red i was scared that i was going to pop a vain or something, then i heard my mom say "his head is out" then i gave it my all the biggest 2 pushes.... and then... MY BABY WAS OUT! After 35 hours in labour and more then 7 hours of pushing, Jacob Edwin was born July 5th 2008 at 9:23am weighing at 6lbs 15 oz and 21inches long. I heard him cry for a couple of seconds and i just cried, everyone was crying they were so happy that little Jacob was finally here. I didn't see Jacob for about 20 minutes because they were working on me and the doctor had to stop the bleeding fast i ended up getting a 3 degree tear(not so good). But finally Stephen brought him to me and i held onto him forever i talked to him and told him that we had a rough couple of days and that i was glad that both of us are ok and that i loved him to pieces.I still LOVE my Jacob to pieces he brings me and our family so much joy. This little guy is loved by everyone and I'm so glad that he picked us to be his parents. Jacob is the sweetest boy and i love how he gives us kisses. We have had an unforgettable year and i cant believe how time has flown by. I don't know what i would do if i didn't have him in my life. I'm so glad that i had a boy first i love how he is such a mama's boy.
I love him with all my heart he is one of my best friends, Jacob and I will always have a special bond. I'm so thankful to my heavenly father for giving me such a wonderful little boy. He is my prince FOREVER!

I cant believe though you were in labour for 35 hours and pused for 7!! you were pusing for 5 hours longer than i was in labour for, i couldnt even imagine having to do that! theres probably a reason it didnt happen to me, im to much of a wuss and wouldnt of ever had more kids, so its a good thing you are tough!! = )
